Readin’ History - Because History Belongs to the People Who Lived It

Welcome to Readin' History

As an avid reader and researcher, I review texts covering monumental global conflicts, little known events, and the entirety of American military history, from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror, with World War II and the Cold War being my primary focus.

Beyond global conflicts, this site serves a deeper personal purpose. I am a descendant of the families displaced from the Blue Ridge Mountains during the creation of Shenandoah National Park. A significant portion of my research is dedicated to this local history, which I am compiling into an upcoming book detailing my family's experiences and the broader impact of the trauma forced on more than 500 families.

Upcoming Project: Our Blue Ridge Eviction

While I continually review broad historical conflicts, my primary ongoing research is deeply personal. I am actively compiling oral histories, land records, and family letters to write a comprehensive book on the displacement/eviction of my family from the Blue Ridge Mountains to create Shenandoah National Park.
